SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

Shelter ferrets are long term residents due to age, health or behavior issues and will typically pass away before their special home comes along.  To help with expenses such as medical care or special food, please consider becoming a sponsor.

Special Needs Ferret Sponsorship

While most LDFR ferrets are available for adoption, a growing number have age, health, or behavioral issues that make them difficult or nearly impossible to place.   These ferrets typically become permanent residents of the shelter.

In addition, foster homes are scarce due to the time involved in caring for an elderly or ill ferret and many people who would like to foster live too far away.   We also know that not everyone has the time or space for a foster ferret but still wish to contribute towards the care of a permanent shelter ferret resident.

For as little as $10 a month (or more), you become a very special person in a needy ferret's life by helping to provide financially for their ongoing care at the shelter or foster home.  In return you will receive a photograph of your own special ferret(s), along with background information, medical information, and updates on how they are doing.

You can choose any one of our special needs ferrets or you can have one chosen for you who is in the most need of a sponsor.   You also have the option to sign up using Paypal’s recurring payment plan or you can download a Special Needs Ferret Sponsorship form and mail in your monthly donation.

Cage Sponsorship

If you would like to help more than one ferret, then perhaps you would be interested in sponsoring a ferret cage.   Your monthly donation would help to provide food and litter, toys, treats and other supplies along with vaccinations and regular intake screening by our shelter vet.

For a monthly donation of $20 (or more), each cage sponsor receives a report on the occupants of their cage.  A photo each time the cage occupants change along with background information and regular updates on the comings and goings of the various ferrets who are initially surrendered and then [hopefully] rehomed.  The sponsor has the satisfaction of knowing  that they made a difference in the lives of ferrets who have previously known abuse and neglect by humans.  Little Dudes Ferret Ranch never turns away a needy ferret regardless of circumstances and we often take in ferrets seized by animal control agencies.
